Another Step

It seems like it has been a long week. Guess it may have been the many challenges we faced last weekend carrying over. Or the logistical and emotional preparations for a memorial service today for a friend from church who passed away after a long battle with cancer. Or some of the many other little pieces that have been pulling at our heart strings, challenging the status quo, or demanding more attention than we had planned to spend on that issue that day.

Living in a country like Peru will likely come with challenges like these. Melissa and I commented to each other this last week that maybe God was just preparing us for what is to come. I cannot say I am a lover of bureaucracy, but guessing we will encounter some of that as we move towards moving south. I really like things to run smoothly, cars to start the first turn of the key, and an organized and normal routine (see here for more on that subject...).

At the end of this month, we will be half way through our church internship at The Grove, which seems quite strange.  Once that is finished at the end of June, and our finances are in place, we will be ready to leave.  God is still working through some "stuff" with us, some additional steps we need to take before that plane takes off.  What a wonderful feeling to know that, as we follow in His will for our lives, He will have us prepared to walk through the doors of the plane on that day.  Guessing I may have a bit of a struggle in some of the steps, but isn't that the walk with Jesus I am seeking?

Take care friends.  Please do give us a call or write...we would love to hear from you.
