Getting close....

So one more day in our house before we hand over the keys. Our friend Ted today said something like: "this is tough isn't it Lowell". Yep. We have a 10 yard dumpster in front of the house that has a lot of stuff that used to have some value in our lives, but now seems to be headed to a very large trash heap. Amazing how that works. There are some items, though, that are tough to get rid of. We gave up our red couch to the Thrift Store today - nothing really special about it, other than a whole lot of kids have sat on it in youth group, my kids have woken up on Saturdays and crawled up on it, and I have watched many a movie with my lovely wife on it. We have come to love this house, and been blessed by what God has done through our time here. Toby and Timothy came to live here as their first home, and Mikaela was just over a year old when we moved here. We have had 3 dogs and 2 chickens here, along with a whole gaggle of annoying squirrels stealing my walnuts each year! Our 14 fruit trees will be missed, as will the large yard, and as I have mentioned to many recently, my mornings looking East during devotionals and watching the big planes float in for a landing at FYI through the trees, while the sun came up and brightened up the front yard.

All this to say this move and change has not and will not be that easy. But it will be good. God will provide, and we look forward to the amazing things He has in store for us. Right now we are being pruned of some stuff, and there is more of that to come. But, as we learned in church yesterday, He is omni-present, and available to us at all times - I am seeking that presence a lot this week.

Take care. We love you all and continue to covet your prayers as we step out of Fresno County going north on Wednesday this week.
