I will start with Rigo. Here is a picture of him with Melissa and I:
It was so good to see him. When I was in Panama in May 2009, we touched base just briefly, but it was not enough time to really talk. Today he got to meet my family, and we spent some good time together. He is working for an organization that brought him and another gentleman up to visit some First Nation's communities north of Vancouver. It was a good reminder of my trans-nations past, and that my heart is a part of many cultures now - how good that will be in the coming years.
The silent retreat was great. Got some good stuff planted on I and II Peter in my head - now need to work through what that all means! Basic idea was that if I want to be effective in the coming years, there are some basic concepts to follow. I will quote them below. Also had a chance to take a long walk on the Discovery Trail - pretty amazing interconnected system of trails and parks that weaves through Abbotsford, and includes playgrounds, water features, bike trails, and streams. Here is a glimpse - enjoy:
Finally, we were given an assignment! But we can't share too much more for now, as some details need to be processed. Suffice it to say we are heading to Latin America! There was a short window during the presentation that Siberia was an option, but that was ruled out quickly! (ok, that was a joke...)
Take care friends. Thank you to the many of you that have taken steps to support us both in prayer and by investing in our steps towards long term missions - you are precious to us.

II Peter 1:5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
