Tomorrow, Melissa and I will leave, through the fog, on the first leg of an overseas journey to a land we have never visited, to a people we have yet to meet, and to lay our heads down in homes and hotels we have never seen. And yet, there is a call for us to Go. To leave that which is known and seek out that which is not yet known.
It is a profound step in this journey towards long term missions. It will be a crucial time of experiencing what Peru is like and how we will look once we are there. God is growing in our hearts a love for the people of Peru, for the people we will serve with, and for the desire for others around the globe to know what is happening there.
It is going to be a great trip! We are excited. The kids are excited about visiting 4 different homes while we are gone. It will be tough for us as a family, to be away from each other for this long. But if we are called, then it will be ok. And we are.
I have been reading a book by Watchman Nee called "Sit, Walk, Stand", and it has confirmed to me once again we serve an incredible and awesome God. He will care for us during this time, as we are His children. Take care friends, and we covet your prayers for us as we travel and for the kids back here in Fresno.
